Mechanical Design Engineer (Part-time / Contract)
Location: Remote (UK only) | Occasional London meeting
Contract: Part-time / Ad-hoc | Self-employed contractor
Crafiz Solutions is expanding its engineering capabilities as we take on new client projects across multiple industries. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support us on a flexible, contract basis.
Role Overview
You will support a variety of mechanical design activities depending on client requirements. Typical work includes:
3D CAD modelling and assembly design
Technical drawings and detailing
Product development support
Design modifications and engineering documentation
Assistance on concept studies and prototype work
Since different clients use different tools, experience in any major CAD platform is acceptable.
Requirements
BEng (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
3–5 years of relevant mechanical design experience
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Catia, Fusion 360, or similar
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drafting standards
Excellent problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
Quick learner with good technical intuition
Self-organised and comfortable working independently
Professional communication skills
Based in the UK and able to work remotely
Comfortable working on a self-employed contractor basis
